My name is Ámbar and I'm from Mexico. I am interested in the intersection of sociological research and documentary filmmaking.

Since I was a little girl, every time I encounter a person I can’t help but wonder who they are, and what they think. As a documentary filmmaker and researcher, my goal is to channel this natural curiosity to address issues of deep societal significance.

In the past I've worked on Religion, Identity and Marginalization and I'm currently interested in Memory, Migration, and Identity. I aim to integrate visual essays with scholarly research as a way to identify, understand and portray new narratives on social phenomena.
